ACID Balance is a product containing two natural compounds neutralizing hydrochloric acid: calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate. These are alkaline salts which, when reacting with HCl, cause its transformation into water and mineral salts.
Calcium carbonate has a fast and strong neutralizing effect, while magnesium carbonate intensifies the action of calcium carbonate. Both salts protect the esophageal, gastric and duodenal mucosa from the damaging effects of gastric juice. They are commonly used in individuals who have an increased content of hydrochloric acid in gastric juice, which is accompanied by side effects and disorders of the digestive system.
Other ingredients: starch and inulin have a protective effect on the gastric mucosa, and green tea extract (a natural anti-oxidant) reduces the harmful effects of free radicals.
